The best way to find out more about is to come along one Sunday and meet us.  In the meantime, here's a little bit of info about our history and what's the church is up to today...

In October 2017, Sketty Baptist Church and Woodlands Church. joined together to form one church.  We decided to give ourselves a new identity as a united church, and from June 2018 we're called Sketty Community Church.

The main church building is over 100 years old and has a rich history.  Some of the older people in the church today have been worshipping at this site for over 80 years!

The main church building was built in 1913 but was actually designed to be the Sunday school hall.  The large lawn at the front of the site is where the main church building was going to be built. However, war broke out the following year and stopped the building plans.  As a result, the Sunday school hall became the main church building.

Many years later, what is now the church hall was added at the rear of the site.

Woodlands Church was started in 1998 by Parklands Church, which is a thriving church not far away in Sketty Park.  Interestingly, Parklands Church was started in the 1970s by Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, which is a grade II listed building in the city centre.

Woodlands Church started in a building in the grounds of Cefn Coed Hospital.  This site has now been developed for housing.  The church moved to Gors Primary School in Cockett.

The combined church has 3 leaders. One of the leaders, John White, is employed as a part-time pastor.  The other two leaders are volunteers. There are 4 deacons.

We're part of Swansea Hope - a partnership of the churches in Swansea who work together to show God's love to people in the city.
